This is a continuation of my posting – http://blog.mohamadfazli.com/?cat=433 earlier last month. Finally my bike was dropped off at Auto Bavaria.
As per my post, I have chosen the following option:
After almost 1 month of submitting the form, finally I managed to get my hands on the scooter. The scooter C650GT is not an RT, but I guess its a damn good scooter.
Yesterday – first time riding the scooter back home from Auto Bavaria in Glenmarie, I felt a bit nervous. I never ridden an automatic motorcycle before. The fact that it’s twist and go, really give me the shivers.
For my RT, at gear 1 – a strong twist will definitely create a lot of jerk, especially on Road or Dynamic mode. Similarly for scooter – my first impression is that the initial twist will give me that similar jerk. In fact, I have heard of stories where first time riders on scooters got into accident the first minute they tried the C650/C600 scooters. Seriously?
After the five minutes, I realised that the twist and go was coupled with a long gear ratio. Thus, getting from 0-60kmh will take quite a while, but after that getting to 100kmh is a breeze.
Today – I decided to join my Racun Riderz kakis to go to Genting. It’s not really a good idea because I am still getting used to the bike and… trying out a relatively difficult corners. It’s ok lah – in my mind, I shall ride very slow and take my In-Out cornering approach slowly.
With the long gear ratio – it does create quite a lot of drag at the point accelerating out the apex. I guess, in order to overcome this I would need to come in fast, so that I can go out faster! At this stage, I shall refrain from doing this as I guess safety is an extremely paramount factor for me during riding.
Next week – I will be going to Penang for Teach for Malaysia. I have not decided whether I ride the scooter or not. Temptation is there, but probably better that I drive a car instead. Will see how.
