The largest exporter of Jute in the world is Bangladesh. Bangladesh has the perfect climate for jute – a warm and wet climate.
Jute fibre’s primary use is inĀ fabrics for packaging a wide range of agricultural and industrial commodities that require bags, sacks, packs, and wrappings. Wherever bulky, strong fabrics and twines resistant to stretching are required, jute is widely used because of its low cost. Burlap is made from jute.
The photo shows a kid harvesting jute plants. This was taken during my Trip to Bangladesh back in 2010. In fact – we dropped by this place upon invitation of an ex gardener of a friend of mine.
